Listen to this informal thirty-minute conversation between artist María Elena González and curator Joseph Daniel Valencia. The duo met as collaborators on the exhibition Sonic Terrains in Latinx Art (2022) on view at the Vincent Price Art Museum at East Los Angeles College. The exhibition notably surveyed the work of thirty Latinx sound artists and collectives active since the postwar period and featured a newly-commissioned art installation by González.

As her Tree Talk series comes to a close, González reflects on the lessons learned from the project and how it has helped to shape her newest body of work, Riven.
